These are the songs that Christian Melgoza produced for his Master’s Project. Focusing in Afro-Latin music studies, he created new Latin versions of non-Latin songs. By doing this, we can see the adaptability of all different music genres of Central and South America. It was a blast to work with Christian and the rest of the artists in this project, giving me a great opportunity to shape a project with such talented musicians involved in it. I hope you enjoy listening to these unique versions of these songs.
Can’t Take My Eyes Off You
Christian Melgoza took this 60’s classic and gave it a lively merengue twist of its own. Estefani and Jared teamed up for this fantastic duet, and their voices just clicked. But let me tell you, my absolute favorite part? It's got to be that horn section in the final chorus – it brings all the energy and wraps the song up with a bang.
Rock With You
Reviving the iconic synth sounds of the 80s, this salsa rendition of Michael Jackson's hit delivers an irresistible feel for dancing. The bass groove kicks in after the first chorus, and let me tell you, it's absolutely contagious. Get ready to move and groove to this revamped classic!
Sleep Walk
Christian did a tremendous job taking it easy, giving Sleep Walk a chill cha-cha makeover. This instrumental version sounds a lot like the original, but it's got this cool twist. The guitar sounds feel like they snagged them right from the original version. Loving that touch of nostalgia – it's like a familiar groove with a brand-new flavor.
Thinking Out Loud
We've all jammed to this tune, right? But who'd have guessed it could groove so smoothly with a bachata twist? The picking guitar in the background adds a seriously cool vibe to the cover. Not gonna lie, I haven't stumbled upon many versions of this song quite as unique as this one. Mixing it up was a blast – definitely enjoyed spicing things up with this track!
Until I Found You
Closing it off with the project's most modern jam, Estefani once again nailed it in this recording. Joining forces this time with Diego for a killer duet. The memories of us laying down this track together in just 2 hours are unforgettable! They're both incredible musicians, and that session will always be memorable.
